Hi everybody!
I know that the rear end of Nissan is unstable at the initial turn-in when using the default setup. Maybe this is the main reason why BMW is the popular choice among BTCC series' racers. Although "BMW (RWD) or Nissan (FWD)?" is kind of a philosophical question which may not have a correct answer as it depends on driving style/taste, in my opinion, Nissan has some potential to offer more stability and consistency with the right setup and deserves some more attention
Using it, I had a competitive pace at Silverstone and my server PB was around six tenths quicker at VIR. So I wanted to share a generic, high stability setup that can potentially perform well at many tracks (it may require some tweaks depending on the characteristics of each track, shouldn't be something major). Note that the setup will reward a smooth driving style and abrupt moves can still cause instability. If you want to decrease diff coast without experiencing oversteer while coasting at high speed corners or chicanes, simply never let it coast and give it a little bit of a throttle to transfer the load to the back. The rear tires have enough camber to plant the car to the track when you have enough load on them.
I hope it'll help some of you to like Nissan. I'll also put a link to some of my onboard laps if you want to check my racing line and braking points.
